Bella's Adventure

by V.Dhanyasri

Deceiving Spirit! - The Tale of a funny ghost!

Ishan is in his summer vacation and comes to his grandma's house, which was so large and airy. He loved to be in this neat big house.

There, he makes friends with Alok, an eight year old boy. They both make plans to visit in this place. They decide to take a look all around the village and discover many things.

It is one hot morning, and these boys take their bicycles and prepare to leave. They came across many river banks, valleys, houses where and happy families lived and much more! They had fun visiting all these places.

While peddling up the hill, Alok told Ishan "Ishan, you know something scary about this place? Every night, when the moon rises and touches that bungalow, These villagers tell that scary noises of someone crying and threatening voices can be heard, it seems!" He pointed towards a scary, rusty and an old mansion.

Ishan sighed at him. "Then, should we solve this mystery?" Alok was so funny at this. "Whoa! you think you can? Then, tomorrow's headlines will be "The hunt for the ghost!' Of coarse!'

Ishan smiled at him saying. 'That's right, That's right!" They both parked their cycles near a banyan tree and walked inside the bungalow.

They were scared at the first sight of the Bungalow. As they both took their first step into the bungalow, the big scary door closed behind them and made them tremble!

It was very, very dark in the bungalow. As said by the Villagers, there came a sudden shriek of some lady weeping, as it was night! "It certainly may be a ghost!" Thought Alok.

The wind whooshed through the curtains. Then, the curtains began to whirl and formed a human - like creature. Alok breathed heavily and said. "Ha! There is a ghost inside this bungalow! lets get away!' Ishan never heard him!

He began to think this as his adventure. As he was wandering through the ghostly bedroom, Ishan bumped into a terrifying ghost like creature walking all by herself here and there. Ishan stopped Alok before he could scream!

Ishan walked slowly towards the ghost. Unexpectedly, The ghost ran away as fast it could. Now, Ishan could spot easily that the ghost wore pinkish slippers and could clearly see that it was painted!

He ran before it and caught hold of her. Alok was now, no longer afraid! Alok roar at her. "Hey you! Wicked woman! Why did you dare to scare us?!

The Ghost was no one, but a woman! She told the boys that there was a hidden treasure in that bungalow, and she was scaring away all the villagers to keep them out of the treasure. She said that she was digging for them totally for 5 years!

Soon, Alok and Ishan caught The Ghost - Woman to the police and happily returned to their homes!

The Foolish Villagers learns a lesson!

It was summer in mount Devanagiri, were hundreds of families lived in a village. The people lived a very happy and peaceful life in the mountain. The villagers were a bit foolish in their behavior.

This village was situated down the mountain, where the people would get icy air, and a great view of the valleys and farms and rivers.

At the same time, there also lived a wise and a clever old man named Chandrabanu. He lived in this homely village, in a small temple.

Chandrabanu woke up early in the morning and took a bath in the shallow river. Then he would return back to the temple, prepared Neyvedya,[Food, fruits or vegetables offered to the god], then would pray. He always believed in god, and was sincere in his routine of praying.

As it was summer, the elders of the village decided that the villagers must offer their prayers, mantras, and they also told that they should bring new sarees, jewels and fruits for the god, who was considered to be inside Mt. Devanagiri. Chandrabanu also heard about this and was happy.

That day, this announcement was established and the villagers were very happy. The ladies and kids began helping each other with sweets like laddu, jamuns, and more. The old women stitched perfect and colorful sarees, while the men took charge of the materials needed.

Finally, the day they were waiting arrived, and all of them including Chandrabanu began their journey uphill. Old Chandrabanu thought that the foolish people should learn a lesson, and this was his opportunity. It was very hot since the summer, and the people were feeling suffocated and uneasy to climb uphill. Everybody were moaning and groaning, instead of Chandrabanu.

He was very happy and was jumping with laughter. Even some of them thought he had got mad and crazy under the sun! They were irritated and angry.

Alas! They reached the hill. They were happy now!! They exchanged their food and offered their prayers and Neyvedya to "Maa Devanagiri" They ate a good feast inside the temple premises happily.

Soon, it was time for them to go back to their home. Now, everyone was very happy and was jumping with laughter because walking downhill was easier than uphill. But now, Chandrabanu was very sad and was struggling to get down the hill. The people were conformed that he was mad.

When they all got down, one of the villagers asked Chandrabanu. "Great Man, Why are you always behaving crazily? Your behavior was different when we were travelling uphill and downhill?"

Chandrabanu smiled at him and made a gentle reply. 'Dear man, When we were travelling uphill, I certainly never thought of climbing the hard hill because, I was thinking about the ease of getting down. Thus, I was able to concentrate and be happy while climbing up.

"But when we were climbing down, I eventually recalled how hard it was to climb up and never thought it to be easy! That is why I was struggling and moaning!

We must never be over confident about a job. Even in hard times, we     must think of the ease and concentrate on our work."

The villagers were ashamed of themselves and understood their mistake. They apologized to Chandrabanu for mocking him and for being foolish. They promised to keep this policy in mind and act!
